Hi [[firstname]]
As previously confirmed, we engaged architects to consider how the club might be improved/developed in order to improve both its practical use and moreover to bring it up to date providing better facilities/environment for existing members and making it more attractive to potential new members.
To remind everyone the brief we provided the architects included;
Create a street view appeal from the A6 so the community knows we are here
Create an improved entrance that is easy to understand and gives a welcoming first experience
Disabled access to all areas into the building including a lift
Create accessible changing and toilet facilities on the ground floor
Create upstairs toilet facilities
Flexible space for classes to enable a far better fitness & wellbeing offering to new and existing members
Ground floor access to the existing gym
Improve the lounge and bar area by making it more useable, better shaped and contemporary
Improve the meeting / eating space
Reinstate saunas
Install a quality coffee machine & coffee area
The architects have worked diligently to provide scheme options, but it has to be said none of the ideas fulfil all requirements whilst delivering the 5 squash courts mandated.

you will be able to see three ideas that I trust you will agree move the club on, each to some degree.
Please be conscious though that none of these are THE SOLUTION. Each would need much more thought and it may be that a combination of elements would be best suited in a final scheme.
Some of the main “wins” include much improved access to Courts 4 and 5 along with the Gym. The return of the Sauna for members and moreover a far more attractive and welcoming appearance and experience.
Please also note - I have included an option for a front entry but please do not get excited as in practice it has been established that the corridor width required for it to be practical would denude the changing rooms of so much space they become unworkable – I include it simply to demonstrate that though has been given in this direction.
I am sharing these with you initially for your interest and consideration, these ideas will be on display in the club for better scrutiny in the next few days.
In due course I would expect a more rounded discussion taking place to ascertain feedback and gauge members preferences. After this I would expect that a specific plan would be brought together, costed and presented back to the membership to gain support prior to any commitment being made or any regulatory applications made.
I hope you find these as exciting as I do and I look forward to hearing your comments.
