Hamlet - Rugby - Mountain Rescue - Pool

Hi [[firstname]]

We have a varied programme of social events to take us through to spring, including plays, six nations rugby and interesting local speakers, so don't sit at home on your own, come and join in the fun with your friends at the club - guests are welcome at all our events.

National Theatre Live – Shakespeare’s renowned play Hamlet

Sunday February 1, 6.45 pm £15

Trapped between duty and doubt, surrounded by power and privilege, young Prince Hamlet dares to ask the ultimate question – you know the one.

Olivier Award-winner Hiran Abeysekera (The Father and the Assassin, Life of Pi) is Hamlet in this fearless, contemporary take on Shakespeare’s famous tragedy.

National Theatre Deputy Artistic Director, Robert Hastie (Standing at the Sky’s Edge, Operation Mincemeat) directs this sharp, stylish and darkly funny reimagining.

NB: The movie Hamnet, currently in cinemas, is inspired by this play – at the time, the name Hamlet was interchangeable with Hamnet.

Pool

We hope to have the pool table repaired next week thanks to member Eric Philips and a donation of green baize from the Duffield Club. Should accidental damage occur in the future, please inform a member of the bar staff or contact duffsportsocial@outlook.com.

We expect members to look after club property at all times, including the green baize and balls as well as the pool cues and tips. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult and all youngsters should learn how to use the pool equipment correctly. We want to ensure that all members, young and old, can continue to benefit from free use of the pool table.

Use of Kitchen

Even though we are not a food business, we must still pay attention to food safety and hygiene standards when preparing food for consumption at the club. Government guidance can be viewed at this site https://www.food.gov.uk/safety-hygiene/providing-food-at-community-and-charity-events. The key pages have been printed and are available in the kitchen. Please always clean the kitchen and cookers after use.
