Bulletin - Updates

IMPORTANT - The Derwentside building has been sold and the new owners have instructed builders to commence work on the outside of the building. This will have an impact on our Car Park from this week. Please be vigilant and patient (a skill very few have at Duffield), or just walk.

Hopefully everyone has been experiencing their own activities this week at the club with our extensive programme and offerings. The rain has decided to be more annoying as we all forget the fantastic summer and start moaning in a traditional British way about the winter. Shortest day incoming.

In other news researchers have discovered the earliest known instance of human - created fire, which took place in the east of England 400,000 years ago coincidentally the same age as some of the mugs in the club kitchen. Also, to the person who put Co - Op stamps in the honesty tin please refrain from doing so. It's 50p cup, 60p if you use the Sports Direct Mug.

Fantastic news as Duffield will be welcoming its 17th Cafe to the village in the old Bank building. Apparently Duffield can look forward to two new hairdressers, two more charity shops and a Vape shop in 2026.

Christmas cards are in full flow (clearly we are not saving the planet just yet). Please look in the pigeon holes situated in the pool room to see if you have any friends or to have that sinking feeling that you have to go and buy some cards to send to people you hadn't thought of.

In need of motivation to keep fit during these cold winter months? Bring a buddy (it's always easier to work out with friends) and come down to the gym to stave off the winter blues, whatever the weather is doing outside! If you're not sure of a gym routine, then talk to our Personal Trainers, who will readily help you figure out some personal goals, and a programme to get there - contact details for Rich and Jackson are on the posters on the walls around the club.

If you are a rackets player who hasn't used the gym before, and would like to arrange access to the facility for the first time, please contact Mike Corne (07919 305280 or fitness@dstc.uk) to organise a gym induction.

Please also note that, the price of using the gym on a Pay-As-You-Go basis will go up from Jan 2026, from £2 to £2.50
