Sisters’ Social @ DRF

Ladies - join us for a Duffield Rackets and Fitness Sisters’ Social evening on the first Wednesday of every month, starting on Wednesday 4 March, 7.30 – 9.30 pm. Members of all sections are invited – squash, tennis, pickleball, fitness/gym and, of course, social. Guests are also welcome. Enjoy a drink and nibbles in the comfort of our club bar - mix with your team mates, make new friends and have a great time!

ICT Lead

We are looking for a member to advise and support the council in running the club’s IT systems. If you have ICT qualifications and experience and would like to contribute to the club in this important area we would love to hear from you. Please contact Sally (07774 704709) if you would like more information. This is a voluntary support role and does not require election to the council.

MyCourts - Subs

Apologies should you receive a subscription renewal email when you pay via a rolling direct debit/gocardless. We are making great efforts to clean up MyCourts to iron out these anomalies. On the other hand...if your subs are due, please respond! There are several tennis members now overdue, which is most likely due to the transition from ClubSpark.

Please check your junk mail. Any questions to membership@dstc.uk

Tennis

What a night at the Derbyshire Tennis Awards 2026!

Duffield Rackets and Fitness absolutely smashed it, bringing home some incredible awards.

First and foremost, a Lifetime Achievement Award for our performance coach Ash — a true mentor and a rock for so many juniors over the past 30 years. An unbelievable contribution to tennis and to our club.

Next up, the Cathy Sabin Volunteer Award goes to Sally , an indispensable member of our tennis community whose dedication and support never go unnoticed.

A huge cheer as well for Cookie , winner of the Veterans Award — not only an outstanding player, but always generous with time, advice, and encouragement for others’ development.

Congratulations to Hossain on winning Official of the Year! A truly dedicated and outstanding official, his hard work and commitment—especially during the Derbyshire Closed—have certainly not gone unnoticed. A well-deserved achievement!

And finally, congratulations to Petar , for Assistant Coach of the Year — driven, passionate, and ready to pass on a genuine love for tennis to our juniors.

We are so proud of everyone — what an achievement for Duffield Rackets and Fitness as we seek to move the club forward into a new era!

Congratulations to Lesley Sturgess for being selected to represent England in the 4 (Home) Nations Masters Squash Competition (over-65s). Private adult coaching is available on request through Lesley, Fin and Matt Gregory. Squash Stars will be back in February for children aged between 5 and 10 who are new to squash. Please look out for details in a further newsletter.

Finally - the Council would like to thank those members who have sent messages of support and encouragement following the recent updates on the club redevelopment.
