We’re back!
We are delighted to inform that we are able to offer Squash and Racketball to all our members from tomorrow onwards. Members have the option to play at Derby University, The Manor (Ilkeston), Burton Squash Club and The Park (Nottingham). Detailed information is below that covers what we plan to do going forwards with Squash/Racketball Leagues, Team Matches, Junior Coaching, Adult Coaching and some additional extras so we can utilise what we can at the club whilst recovery continues.
None of the above could be done without the hard work and organisation of our members so please stick with us, get involved with as much as you can and we’ll be back better than ever in no time!
Thanks again for the support from Local clubs / Facilities so we are able to continue playing, and most importantly, the efforts of the ‘The Recovery Team’, specifically Nigel Williams and Andy Page. This process could not be done without them and their unwavering commitment and organisation.
Venues

Once you have registered and logged in you will need to click on Make a booking and scroll down and select Squash Courts from there you will need to select the date and time you want to play and then you can select Book & Checkout and continue with payment and then you’re sorted.
Changing rooms / toilets are available. If you ask at reception they can point you in the right direction. Please bear in mind you can only book for the coming week and parking on site is only available on Weekdays after 4pm and weekends.

Squash and Racketball Leagues
Players can still submit current league results before the end of the month. The leagues will return on 1/11/23. League matches can be played at any of the above venues and this is at players discretion where they want to play. Anyone already in the leagues will remain in the leagues and if anyone would like to join either league can you please contact leagues@duffieldsquashclub.co.uk
All league results will still be uploaded onto MyCourts and the exact same rules apply, however the leagues will run from 1/11/23 until the 31/12/23 (8 weeks) due to the additional travelling and Christmas interruptions.

Squash Team Matches
Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire team matches will continue. We are hoping we will be able to play all our away games early in the season and have courts available again when we have home games. However if this isn’t possible due to leagues scheduling, games will be played at The Manor for Derbyshire League and The Park for Nottinghamshire League games, as it means we will be able to supply food after the games. This may be subject to change. Team Captains will sort out and advise players.
Massive thanks again to The Manor and The Park for supporting the club at such short notice. If players have any questions or want more information please contact the Team Captains. Again, thank you to the Team Captains for ensuring no fixtures have been missed due to their organisation.
Junior Coaching
We are also pleased to announce that Junior Coaching will continue after half term. Coaching will take place at the University, lead by Fin and Will. Sessions will be held on a Tuesday 4:30-5:30 and Saturday 10-11:30 with the girls session continuing to run on a Wednesday 4:45-5:45. Adult Coaching
Adult coaching will also restart after half term, and will also take place at the University. Women’s night will continue on a Wednesday 7-8:30. Friendlies/Social
If you just want a regular friendly game then please follow the information at the start of the email on how to book each venue. TFI also returns on a Friday night 5-7 at the University. Please contact Mark Stott (07584 311266) to be added to the Whatsapp group for more information.
The Racketball Social Event against Burton scheduled for 11/11/23 will now take place at Burton. Please contact Dean Gregory (07951 545545) if you would like to take part.
Additional Extras
We may not have Squash and Racketball at the moment but we are optimistic to have the Gym, Bar and Tennis back up and running in no time at the club. Therefore we would like to ask members if they had any ideas how we could utilise these facilities to their maximum potential. Ideas so far consist of the return of the Pool League, Poker Nights, Table Tennis, Running Club (Sunday mornings) and Coffee & Tea mornings.
