Race Evening, Saturday 8 November – 7 pm for a 7.30 start, £5
If you fancy a fun evening with a chance for a harmless flutter on the gee gees, while supporting a worthy cause, now’s your chance. We are running a charity race evening to help the Allestree Evergreen Club’s fundraising effort to replace its roof. We will watch eight exciting horse racing videos, and you can place a bet on each race for just £1. Winners will receive a share of the betting stakes. A tasty ploughman’s platter will be shared between tables of six (veggie option available – please request on booking form). Please bring cash on the night for your bets…and a credit card for your drinks.

Remembrance Day Ceremony in Duffield, Sunday 9th November
This year we will be joining other village groups and organisations to lay a wreath at the cenotaph at St Alkmund’s church. Groups meet at 10.15 to collect their wreath before walking to the cenotaph, arriving at around 10.50 for the Act of Remembrance.

Christmas party, Saturday, 13 December, £12
We are ringing the changes this year for our Christmas event with a buffet and a four-piece band. Derby-based Forged in Fire will play your favourite pop and rock classics, so you can dance all night or just sing along. Greg Broadbent (formerly of Godfrey’s café) is providing a range of high-quality dishes for the buffet, including salmon, chicken wings and arancini. All for only £12.
