Keeping Yourself Safe At Duffield Squash And Racketball Club

An update for existing members and information for new members.

Dear Junior member,
As part of the work of your club, the Committee work hard to keep all members safe. We really value our junior members and would like you to be, and feel, safe at all times. Squash and Racketball are such great sports, which you can enjoy for a lifetime, and we are delighted you are a member!
At school, you will no doubt have been taught a lot about how to stay safe, both online and in person, too. And just like at school, a team here at the club keep you safe from harm.
They are the club’s Safeguarding Team.
They have special training to help you stay safe, just like your teachers at school.
At school, your Head Teacher is usually the person who leads the team that keep children and young people safe. That person at the Club is its Chairperson, Mr Michael Taylor, but any of us in the team can help you. We are all friendly and approachable and many of us have worked with children and young people in our working lives. We all know what to do if something is worrying you, or something has happened that you need to talk to us about.
Nothing you tell us will ever sound silly, or shock us and no worry is too small to talk to one of us about.
Contact details for us all can be found on the posters around the club, in the written policy, at the bottom of this letter and on the Club's website. You can contact any one of us at any time and we will help you.
You will have met at least one of us when you joined the club, because we always meet with you and your parents or carers when you join us and explain how to be safe and happy as a member.
You can help us keep you safe by using your common sense and what you have been taught at home and school, talking to us, giving us your views when you see us at the Club, and sometimes in a questionnaire, and doing everything you can to stay safe on line.
If we work together in this way, we can all enjoy being members of such a great club, and be proud of it, whether we are 8, 18 or 88 years old!

With best wishes from your Safeguarding Team and happy playing!
