Pickleball ?

Dear [[firstname]]

Pickleball? Is it for Squash and Raquetball Players?

Great news that 3 of our squash courts are now back up and running, so all Squash and Racquetball players can get back to playing the games they love.

More good news from the Tennis club .. for the foreseeable future your Squash & Racketball playing membership also means you can enjoy being outside trying out, playing and enjoying Pickleball which is the fastest growing racquet sport in the world and at no additional cost.
Membership is included, as you are a Squash &/or Racketball playing member and no court fees……..

Pickleball - How does it compare to Squash/Racquetball?

Played on a Badminton sized court you will find that you need to be sharper than Squash/Racquetball - reaction times are less, it will improve your volleying and be a different kind of workout. It is a social game that can be played as singles (Hard work – trust us!) or doubles which is very sociable and can be fast and furious.

For a little more info try; https://dropshot.uk/blogs/news/pickleball-is-the-new-sport-on-the-block-why-is-it-so-popular

The club has paddles (Bats/Racquets, call them what you want) which can be borrowed to try the game.
You will see "Open to all" social sessions for Tennis, Squash & Racketball playing members taking place outside, from 2pm Wednesday afternoons and from the beginning of April, Tuesdays 4.30pm to 6.30/7pm.
If these times don’t suit and a group want a separate “taster” session or you just want more details contact James Grindell, tennis coach or Mark Benson (07973147054) and they will look to provide an opportunity for you to try it out.

It seems without exception, whoever has tried it enjoys it and whether you are a Racquetball or a Squash player, prepare to be hooked………… What have you got to lose?

Look out for more information coming by email detailing “Duffield Summer of Pickleball” – we look forward to seeing you on court inside and outside!
