Duffield Squash & Tennis Club Update - 19/11/23

Dear [[firstname]],

Short version

It was brilliant to see so many members at the Open Day yesterday. Hopefully you were able to see the devastating effects of the flood, but more importantly the huge strides already made to reopen the club “bigger and better” as soon as we can.

Please find attached a FAQs sheet that our Recovery Team were using yesterday. In summary, subject to the insurers accepting liability on Wednesday, we are planning to get first carpeted tennis courts in by end Jan and the first Squash courts in by mid Feb.

Longer version

Lounge and bar

From tomorrow we are delighted that the lounge and kitchen will reopen for daytime use from 8am.

We are also delighted that the bar will be reopening on a modified trial schedule from tomorrow !

Following many discussions we are going to begin with opening on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5.30 to 7.30.

If that works well then we will continue, however if we need to do something different, then we will !

There will initially only be one toilet which is in the hallway, and this will be cleaned daily.

Please respect that the central office hallway, both changing rooms, and the raised walkway along the back of squash courts 3, 4 & 5 are all still out of bounds.

During this opening up phase please respect any physical barrier, instruction sign & especially “No Entry” sign, or any red & white hazard tape around all other areas.

They are all there for your comfort and safety and to ensure we don’t fall foul of any insurance liabilities.

Other

Please do keep sending in your suggestions for what “Bigger and Better” means personally for you, if you don’t tell us we won’t know! Please send to 23townstreetduffield@gmail.com

Very best regards,

Your Recovery Team
