The long or short of it ……..
This morning our insurers have accepted liability for the flood damage. This is fantastic news for our club and a big relief for the Recovery Team!
This afternoon we have already instructed Courtmasters to start hacking the damp plaster off the squash court walls as soon as they possibly can, and we have told them to reserve their next available slot for the reinstatement of the first courts. We will keep you up to date with firmer dates as we know them.
We have ordered the first 5 new tennis court carpets. We have also instructed the supplier to strip the carpets on courts 3, 4 & 5, pressure wash the asphalt and paint them. The majority of this work will be done next Tuesday which will mean that the whole of 23 Town Street will be completely closed on Tuesday 28th Nov. James will be cancelling all daytime bookings up to 4pm. Apologies to those concerned, but it’s only one day.
The floodlights have been repaired, so evening play is available to all again, extending to all 6 courts by the end of next week.
We are also waiting for a date from the company who will do the initial partial strip out and forced drying of the ground floor. We hope that will start in 2 to 3 weeks.
